Crazy Haired Cockatiel

Look at this crazy haired cockatiel from Miss Rach, how awesome is he. I, of course enhanced his crazy hair with a few highlights and I perched him in a tree, happily squawking away :

This was made for this weeks Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge of Fins, feathers, fur.

The background is made with nuance powders on a very absorbant card stock so the colours did not run/bleed much when I wet them, then I die cut the branch and cut a tree and embossed it. I typed 'squawk' randomly on the background with my typewriter.

The cockatiel is coloured with copics and fussy cut. In Miss Rach's actual digi the bird is not on the tree, I adapted it.

Miss Rach has awesome cartoon critters, you should definitely check them out.

60's rock and roll girl

Such a fun image to work with this week at Wicked Wednesday, this is 60's rock and roll girl from Lemon Shortbread

For this ATC I was thinking that she just looked like a movie star to me. So I put her in a film :)

She is coloured with copics, and I used a film strip die and also the word 'love' is a die cut.

Looking forward to Halloween

Oh boy, did I have a hoot creating for this weeks challenge at Wicked Wednesday, which is Halloween.

The eyeball is from a Halloween set by MMedelIllustrations.

I printed the eye, coloured it with copics, fussy cut it and added a layer of diamond glaze. Then left it to dry for about 24 hours. Eyes really do benefit from this glossy look, makes them look much more real.

The background is made with a stencil and dylusions sprays. I tore the edge and typed the words on my typewriter. When everything was glued in place I added some shadows with a charcoal pencil and blending stub. I lightly inked the edge of the ATC in black ink.

The words made me laugh ... look how intently the eye is looking forward to Halloween ... LOL

Fall Colours

Its September already ... the long hot days of summer are subsiding and the cooler weather and fall approaches ... what a relief.

Fall colours is Wicked Wednesdays challenge this week, sponsored by Alicia Bel :

Meet Fall Faery :

She is coloured with copics and fussy cut. I added some gel pen highlights and wink of stellar pen to her wings. I know she's green/blue .. but have you seen any faeries ? Do you know what colour they are ? Artistic licence ... in my imagination faeries are this colour :)

Stop by Wicked Wednesday for more inspiration from the DT and join to win images from Alicia Bel :)

When you travel you see yourself in a new light

Today there is a brand new challenge at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity, Anything Goes. As much as I like the challenge of creating to a theme, its fun to be free and create whatever your heart desires :)

I have used this gorgeous stamp from Lost Coast Designs. Its her first inking, and I loved her even more than I thought I would. Meet Feather Diva with Face :

For this card I created a water color background with nuance powders and a water spray bottle. I firstly added the orange and red, then when it was dry I added the blue across the top and made it run with the water.

Feather Diva was stamped into the background in black, then I also stamped her onto plain white card stock and also onto a co-ordinating colorised piece of card stock. This was all fussy cut, her face and feathers colored with copics. I paper pieced her dress. I used a charcoal pencil to add some shadows and the ground. I like to ground my images, rather have them floating. I also used a saying from Travel Quotes and lightly stamped images from the travel stuff set in the background.
