She sells seashells

This week is a new release from Vera Lane Studio of a seahorse and octopus set :

The design team have made really amazing creations this week with the critters and I decided to pair the lovely shells with another set featuring royalty by Vera Lane Studio.

This is a page in my mini art journal, created using distress stains and ink with a stencil for the background. The image is coloured with copics, the dress paper pieced. The flags are from a patterned paper I have, and I printed the words on the computer.

As a kid growing up in the UK I went to elocution lessons to speak the queens english lol. I said many many tongue twisters during that time, this seashells rhyme being one of them. So I brought it all together in my page.

Here is a member of the Royal family earning her keep hahahaha.

NYC Limits

This is quite a personal piece I made in my art journal, featuring an image from the set Rain or Shine by Vera Lane Studio.

Without going into too much detail, its about being unseen standing in the rain, weathering the storm ...but being on the periphery of something great. Change is scary, but change is inevitable. By not making change we stay stagnated in a less than ideal situation. Sometimes you just gotta take that first step out of the rain and into the sunshine ..... wish me luck ...

The background is acrylic paints and a stencil. The blue strip across the middle is the skyline.
The image is coloured with copics and fussy cut. The words are made from a wheel by Stampin Up, and I doodled and added heart rain drops.

Thanks so much for stopping by, please leave me a comment so I know you visited and have yourself a beautiful day x Nikki

Hidden Treasures

This beautiful Mermaid set is the latest release from Vera Lane Studio. Don't you just love her freedom of body and spirit.

I have made a card featuring her, with a mixed media background of nuance powders and molding paste with a stencil. Mermaid is coloured with copics, and gel pen :

The shell is adorable isn't it ... keep watching for future releases from Vera Lane Studio.

Thanks for stopping by, have a great day.

Summertime fun

Today I'm sharing a fun atc featuring the gorgeous gal from the June Birthday set by Vera Lane Studio.  I made this for a Summertime themed atc trade :

She is of course holding a yummy ice cream, also by Vera Lane Studio and by the looks of it, shes not sharing ! LOL

The orange portion of the background is acrylic paint and a brayer and the pink is water colour powders with a stencil. The grass is cut using a die. The other elements are coloured with copics and white sharpie pen. The words typed on my typewriter.

Thanks for stopping by, please check out the Vera Lane Studio store. Its awesome !

Time for travels ...

Its been a few months since I last posted, sorry about that, I had some personal issues ... which are thankfully now fading into the past .... :)

What a lovely come back though with this gorgeous gal from Vera Lane Studio, from a set called The Traveler. I have done a lot of travelling and she was just what I needed to get me back to crafting.

I have made an page in my art journal :

The car is from the Wheels set. Isnt it an awesome red car for her. The houses from the recent release Tall Town. The sun is from a set called Sunny

The images are colored with copics, pencil and white gel pen and fussy cut.

Summertime

There is a new ATC trade at Vera Lane Studio facebook group, entitled Summertime.

Here is my creation, featuring one of the gorgeous gals from the Floral Park Collection, The Organics set :

She is holding a big double scoop ice cream, from the Sweets and Treats set, the border is from Vera's Borders. All are coloured with copics and gel pen highlights added. Then fussy cut. I cut the arms so I could slide in the big double scoop waffle cone shes about to enjoy on this warm sunny day. The background was made with water colours. I doodled around the edge, sponged the edge and added washi tape and sequins.
