New Years ATC

Almost New Year ... lets hope its a good one.

This is an ATC I made for Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge blog, the challenge is Something New, and the sponsor is Lemon Shortbread.

I have used this cute image, Rose Wavy Hair Girl for my New Year ATC :

She is obviously not living in my part of the world as we have a foot of snow ! She's in Australia perhaps ?

The image is coloured with copics and fussy cut. The background was made with my Christmas gift - Nuance Powders by Magenta, a water soluble powder dye. They are so great, I bought them here.

I stamped the words and numbers from sets by Waltzing Mouse Stamps and Close to my Heart.

Thanks for stopping by, and why not come and join us at Wicked Wednesday :)

A little crafting time

Christmas is a busy time, its hard to find time to just relax and craft. But yesterday I did :) I got the new Nuance powders by Magenta, they are a powdered dye. So I had to play ...

I made two ATC's :

One featuring sock puppet from Deep Red Rubber :

The background is the paper towel I was cleaning up the Nuance Powders with. I glued it onto an ATC front. The sock puppet is stamped in memento and colored with copics, with a layer of gel medium added and crystal effects for the eyes. I fussy cut him and glued him into place on the ATC front and added some shadows with a soft lead pencil.

The sentiment I typed on my type writer. I have seen this so many times about butterflies, so I decided to make mine about sock puppets. LOL. Finally I added a little shimmer with Prima sugar in pale pink.

Isn't it such a sweet image.

The second ATC features Queenie, a new digi image from Vera Lane Studios. Isn't she gorgeous :

Queenie was resized in word, printed and coloured with copics and lumiere paints. I then fussy cut her. I liked her hair in red and pink, she is one funky gal.

I painted the background in turquoise acrylic paint, and added the string with gel medium. I did some black painting and then splashed on some Nuance powders, with water. Then let it dry. Then I came back with watered down white acrylic. When that was splashed on, the nuance powders reacted with the white acrylic to colour it. I let it all dry, used some lumiere paints in gold to high light the string , edge the ATC, add some ground for Queenie and color the stars. Then I stamped the sentiment from a Christmas set by Marianne Designs.

I quite like it, the colours are vibrant and it is very textured.

Party Time

Winter Holiday is the theme at Wicked Wednesday this week, sponsored by Faery Ink.

I have used this very classy gal, this is Holiday Tree Destiny. She is all dressed up in her finest gown and off to a Christmas Party, which incidentally so am I. Doesn't she look lovely :

The image is colored with copics. I liked giving her multicolored hair. I fussy cut the image and placed her onto patterened Christmas paper with a layer of velum over it. Before I glued everything into place, I typed party time on my type writer, on paper I had colored with the same violet copics, and placed it under the velum. I liked how her skirt is flowing off the bottom of the ATC :)

Protect My Home

This week Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge blog is sponsored by SLS Lines
The Challenge is 'Add Antlers'.

I have used this awesome image, Earth Day World Holder or Environmental Warrior :

The dude was resized to fit the 2.5" x 3.5" ATC, printed and colored with copics.

The background was stamped carefully around the image and embossed in clear powder, so that when I sponged around the dude in yellow, green and blue, the stamped image resisted the ink.

The words were typed on my typewriter and sponged to match the background. The world was colored in with a versamark pen and embossed in clear powder to make it shiny.

The message is very clear here : protect our world, our home.

A Carmen's Veranda Christmas

Over at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity we are having a Carmen's Veranda Christmas. Here is my make for Day 2

I have made this ATC, using two stamps from Carmen's Veranda, Elf and Christmas Lights
See the look on the little elfs face ? SO I have titled this ATC : Oh Joy !

The first thing I did to make my background was apply glue stick through a star stencil. When that had dried I sprayed the background with Lindys Stamp Gang Starburst sprays and let it dry. The Christmas lights were stamped in Stazon, then I added liquid pearls to the bulbs. See how some cracked over the glue stars - I liked that. Some of the cream lights also absorbed the colour from the sprays, which was unexpected and welcomed. You see, there are no mistakes with mixed media techniques, only pleasant and unexpected surprises. LOL. I added a little micro bead to the base of each light.

The elf was stamped in memento ink, and coloured with copics, see how cute he is in this close up:

The final step was to add a couple of thin strips of glitter, I do like a little bling on Christmas projects. The word Joy was die cut from a Tim Holtz word set. The elf was popped up on pop dots. And the ATC front matted onto black card stock.

A fun little ATC for sure :) Thanks for stopping by, and why not pop over to the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity for some more Christmas inspiration x

Winter Blues ATC

This weeks challenge at Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge blog is 'Winter Blues', sponsored by The East Wind. I used this gorgeous gal, Aurora Scarf :

Aurora was resized in word and printed. I colored her with copics, and fussy cut the image. Finally I added some stickles, to simulate the ice in her hair.  Its a pretty cold, wintery evening, see the icicles around her, but she is all wrapped up so nice and warm, although rosy cheeked :)

The background is acrylic paint, and I used an icicle die with glitter paper. I typed the words on my typewriter, on paper I had colored with the same acrylic paint. I popped up the middle section of sentiment  across the bottom, and edged the ATC in a darker blue paint.

Here is a closer look at her :

I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas

There is a new Facebook Christmas themed challenge for Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda.

Here is my make, featuring the Snowman from Carmen's Veranda :

The snowman was stamped in grey memento ink, and the edges sponged.

I colored the scarf separately, it was stamped in orange and fussy cut.

I used a stencil by Tim Holtz and molding paste to add some swirls to the snowman, then added Art Sugar by Prima whilst the paste was still wet.

The background is made by running the tag through the big shot with a snowflake embossing folder, then colorized it with dylusions sprays. Inka gold was added to the raised parts of the snowflakes when dry, and finally, a sentiment, rhinestones and co-ordinating colored ribbon added.

Thanks for stopping by, please check our the challenge and the other DT's inspiration on our facebook pages :)

Tacky / Gaudy Christmas

A fun challenge for our local ATC trade, tacky or gaudy Christmas .... Here is my make using Dina Wakeleys scribbly birds. Doesn't he look spiffing in his Christmas sweater :)

Background is die cut snowflakes glued into place on water color paper, then colored with water color paint in shades of blue and violet. I added a layer of satin varnish to seal it and merge the colors, and sprinkled on glass glitter when it was still wet. I did some white splashes and edged the ATC in white acrylic.

The bird is stamped on vanilla card stock and colored with distress inks, white and black gel pen details added and diamond glaze to make the eye look beady. I stamped the bird onto the knitted pattered paper, fussy cut it and dressed him. I wanted an image on the front, so the snowman arrived :) Now this is a proper ugly Christmas sweater. LOL

I die cut a branch and glued that in place, stamped the bird onto the background in black versamark and clear embossed it. Then I glued my finished bird over the top, with a little sweater trim around the neck to keep him warm.

Finally I typed 'Cheap Cheap' on my typewriter, punched each letter out with a small circle punch, edged them individually with blue copic and glued the letters down. Do you get the cheap cheap reference in relation to tacky and  gawdy? Its not a typo .. I know that birds really cheep .... LOL

Tic Tac Toe

This weeks challenge at Wicked Wednesday is a Tic Tac Toe Board :

How much fun to get inspiration from this. For my ATC I used : red and green, girly, washi tape and stickles.

Here is my ATC, using the cute image by All Dressed Up, called Magical Woodland. There are extra parts to the image you buy, another toadstool and flowers, but my background was already busy enough so I left them out.

The fairy and toadstool are colored with copics, faber castell india ink pens and prisma color pencils. I added sparkly stickles to her wings.

The background is painted with distress paints in three shades of green, then I used a bottle cap to stamp the red circles. I used a stencil for the smaller pink circles and when it was dry did a little white doodling. I used pink because I had wanted to soften everything up from the harsher greens and reds, and thought my little woodland fairy needed to be super feminine.

I added two torn strips of pink flower washi across the bottom and my word, 'believe' is from a Tim Holtz sticker pack. I painted it pink to tie in with the other pink :)

Here is a close up of her :

Thanks for stopping by, please leave a comment for me
and come join us over at Wicked Wednesday :)

I am also entering this fairy into the All Dressed Up challenge in their Facebook group, the challenge is Stars or Snowflakes - I think my little pink snowflakes qualify :)
